Mechanical Technology

Mechanical Technology (MT)The Mechanical Technology Department offers students 3 training programs: Production Technology, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Automotive Technology. Each one has been designed to teach students the required skills to become professionals in their respective field of training while at the same time contribute to enhance the competitiveness of the Kingdom´s economy.

The 3 programs share several modules on the early stages of the program like Vocational Pedagogy, English Mathematics, Materials and Technical drawing. In later stages of the program students pursue specialized studies on their respective chosen field.

 

 

Training programs
The Department of Mechanical Technology offers the following training programs:

    •    The Production Technology (PT) program trains students in the function application, maintenance and repair of manufacturing systems. In our advanced laboratories students learn about the operation and control of production and manufacturing systems with equipment available in some of the most advanced production sites. At the end of their studies, each trainee will plan and conduct a Bachelor's project in a relevant field.

    •    The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) program teaches students the fundamental aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning, and to develop technical expertise about the function, application, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance and repair of RAC systems. In our state of the art facilities students will learn the principles behind RAC systems, how to design and build them. At the end of their studies, each trainee will plan and conduct a Bachelor’s project in a relevant field.

    •    The Automotive Technology program teaches the principles behind the operation of all the major systems of a motor vehicle. From engines to climate control systems, the students will learn and practice with the most advanced and sophisticated equipment available. Additionally, students will develop experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing using real life maintenance procedures from automotive manufacturers. At the end of their studies, trainees will conduct a Bachelor’s project in a relevant field.
 
Scholarship
TTC students receive a monthly scholarship of 1.000 SAR. More information can be found on the TVTC's website: www.tvtc.gov.sa.
 
Requirements and Application
Applications for TTC training programs are welcome from young Saudi graduates from a College of Technology (CoT) or one of the “Colleges of Excellence” (CoE), who are interested in pursuing a career as a vocational trainer.

TTC selects applicants based on their GPA score and proficiency in English. Furthermore, the applicant's interest and motivation to become a vocational trainer will be decisive in the admission process to TTC.

Characteristics of the training programs

Training programs in Production Technology (PT) and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) share several identical training modules in the respective vocational fields during the first three semesters. These involve primarily vocational pedagogy and English classes, but also technical courses such as mechanics, materials and technical drawing.
