On Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of January 2010G (Muharram 08th and 09th, 1431H) the first preselected applicants attended the English Entry Exam at Technical Trainers College. It is the second hurdle candidates have to take before being admitted. Only the best will start the beginning of their career as trainees at TTC. Once arrived at TTC, candidates had to register at the college’s auditorium. After being welcomed by the Head of Admission Department, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharekh, the applicants were divided in different groups to facilitate the well-organised registration process. After the successful verification of applicants IDs and contact data, applicants were lead to the written language exam by the staff of the TTC`s English Department.

Oct 11, 2009 – Ten trainees from TVTC have been selected on the basis of their outstanding achievements to attend the TTC training program. The Dean of TTC, Prof. Dr. Diethelm, welcomed all trainees during the opening presentation by the Department of Vocational Pedagogy.

With a familiar opening ceremony, Technical Trainers College started its first training year on September 26, 2009. Prof. Dr. Gerd Diethelm, Dean of TTC, encouraged all trainees in his opening speech to ”be curious, feel committed, work harder than necessary, and support each other”. The Vice-Deans Dr. Traugott Schefthaler and Dr. Yousef Al-Harbi, as well as the Heads of Department Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharekh and Dr. Adel Salem welcomed the audience by introducing them to the basic rules of the college and the structure of vocational education at TTC. Special guests were TVTC’s Vice-Governor Dr. Saleh Al-Amr and GTZ Country Director Roland Hühn. His Excellency Dr. Saleh showed the trainees their importance as agents of change in the Kingdom’s vocational system, while Mr. Hühn congratulated all involved persons to the achievement of the first milestone – the opening of TTC.

TTC opened its doors for registration. Selected candidates are invited to submit the necessary documents from August 16 to 25, 2009. The Dean, Prof. Dr. Diethelm, welcomed the first candidates personally. He expressed his delight to meet the first motivated trainees that will be educated at TTC.
